The New Testament provides a picture that the church is not merely an event to attend but a family to connect with. By describing us as parts of a body (members), the Scriptures demonstrate that every local church is made up of believers committed to one another for the sake of holiness and the ministry of the gospel. At Compass, we want these members to be highly committed participants who minister in the work to which God has called them (Eph. 4:12, 1 Peter 4:10-11).
Compass 101 is for those interested in becoming an active member at Compass Bible Church. This class will provide an overview of the Bible's teaching on life in the local church and will provide an overview of the distinctives and direction of Compass Bible Church.
Each Compass 101 will cover three sessions.
Session 1 - Being part of a church (Portrait of the New Testament Church)
Session 2 - Being part of the church (Getting the Gospel Right)
Session 3 - Being part of this church (Life at Compass Bible Long Beach)
The class will meet from 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, at our church office (4113 N Bellflower Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90808).
